The Club will be the starting point for the society to collect information on the horses that have been bred in South Africa.
At a later date we can introduce inspections with judges from Ireland of the horses.
The club is a neutral base where owners will be able to advertise their horses and send information of results of their horses.
There were two registered Irish Draught stallions imported to South Africa in the late part of 1999.
The stallions were Etherow Impasse and Glenagyle Rebel.
These two stallions have been the foundation stallions of the breed in South Africa.
The breed has gained popularity over the last few years with many loyal supporters in tow.
South Africa has a large base of thoroughbred mares and this is the ideal cross with the Irish Draught to produce a sport horse.
