Kinvara stud was the first importer of the Registered Irish Draught, to South Africa. We have now been breeding for a few years and have some excellent progeny on the ground. With the help of the stallions Etherow Impasse and Glenagyle Rebel the Irish Draught bloodlines have become firmly secured in South African equine breeding. We have produced horses with ridability and the looks to match. Etherow Impasse is now having the success he deserved with his young stock coming into their own.
With the breed being so new in South Africa we have to make sure that the horses are produced well and are shown to the best of their ability. There is a growing number of supporters of the breed, as once you have ridden an Irish horse you are usually taken by their lightness and power.
